Sawai Ram Singh II(1833 – 1880)

Ram Singh II of Jaipur

Maharaja of Jaipur (1835–1880) under British paramountcy. Reforming ruler — painted the city pink for the Prince of Wales’ 1876 visit, founded Maharaja’s College and the School of Art. Loyal to the British in 1857; awarded GCSI, appointed to the Viceroy’s Legislative Council.
